The South Texas Latino Coalition in partnership with the League of United Latin American Citizens Council #22387 and Webb County Treasurer Raul Reyes will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Month Walk/Zumba and Community Expo on Saturday October 8, 2022 from 8:00am – 12:00pm. The Walk/Zumba and Community Expo will be held at the Casa Blanca Golf Course located at 3900 Casa Blanca Rd, Laredo, TX 78041.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is a wonderful opportunity to show survivors that our community cares and that we support our current warriors and remember those who have lost the battle. Your contributions to the South Texas Latino Coalition Breast Cancer Assistance Program will ensure that underserved patients continue to have access to post-surgical products, fitting services and utility payment assistance through services and programs rendered by the Laredo Cancer Society.

The purpose of the South Texas Latino Coalition Breast Cancer Assistance Program is to provide funding to those local organizations who provide prevention awareness and education to those learning about their risks, early detection services to those in need, and a helping hand to those diagnosed with breast cancer and their loved ones as they navigate the complex cancer care system.

According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, claiming the lives of hundreds of thousands of women each year and affecting countries at all levels of modernization. Locally, 1 in 8 Women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.

The mission of the STX Latino Coalition is to collaborate with community organizations and leaders to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, housing and general health of the Latino community.
